Sweet and Sour Chicken
Sweet and sour chicken is incredibly tasty, tender and piquant. Nowadays, ginger, sea salt and soy sauce have long passed from the category of overseas rarities to the category of everyday products that are in any store. A similar recipe is found under the name "sweet and sour chicken in Chinese." In various versions of the recipe, fresh pineapple is added to the sauce, hot pepper is placed, honey is used instead of granulated sugar, and rice wine is used as acidifier. Cook the chicken in sweet and sour sauce as you like, try it to your taste, because, as you know, everyone has different tastes.

Ingredients for cooking chicken in sweet and sour sauce:
- 300 g chicken breast fillet;
- 85 g of carrots;
- 70 g of green sweet pepper;
- 20 g of ginger;
- 120 g of red onion;
- 3-4 cloves of garlic;
- 60 g of tomato puree;
- 35 g of granulated sugar;
- 45 ml of soy sauce;
- 50 ml of wine vinegar;
- 35 ml of olive oil;
- sea salt, black pepper, green onion.
The method of preparation of chicken in sweet and sour sauce
Cut the fillet from the chicken breast. We cut chicken meat in sweet and sour sauce in long strips 1.5 cm wide. Put the fillet in a bowl, add a tablespoon of soy sauce and olive oil, pour 1 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt, pepper and black pepper. Leave the meat in the marinade for 10-15 minutes.
The fillet can be held in the marinade for several hours or left overnight, the taste will only improve.
We heat the remaining olive oil in a pan, throw the chicken fillet into the heated oil, fry over high heat quickly, stir. It is convenient to cook such a dish in a wok (in a pan with a convex bottom) - the meat remains juicy, the vegetables are crispy, and it takes very little time to cook.
We take out the fried chicken from the pan, transfer to a bowl.
Next, we continue to cook vegetables in the same pan, you do not need to wash it.
Peel fresh ginger peel, cut finely. Grind the cloves of garlic.
Throw ginger and garlic into the heated oil, fry for half a minute.
Cut red onion finely, add to garlic and ginger, sprinkle with sea salt. We pass the onion for 5 minutes until it becomes translucent.
Rub the carrots on a Korean grater or shred thin strips. Green pepper pod is cleaned from seeds, cut into cubes.
Add pepper and carrots to the pan, fry vegetables on high heat for 5 minutes.
Pour the remaining soy sauce, wine vinegar into the pan and pour granulated sugar.
Then add the tomato puree, evaporate moisture from the pan over high heat. When the vegetables are caramelized, that is, the liquid will evaporate almost completely, and the sauce will become viscous and thick, you can add meat.
Put the fried fillet for vegetables, cook everything together for another 3-4 minutes.
Before serving, sprinkle chicken in sweet and sour sauce with a green onion or parsley. Enjoy your meal!
