Hawthorn lives on free bread in the wild. Indeed, the people have long been glorifying him that his fruits are very useful for the human heart.
Two varieties of hawthorn are growing on my site: early and late. The first is with round tasty fruits of orange-red color. The second fruit is oval, large, blood red.
The most amazing thing is that you can not look after the hawthorn at all, the fruits will still be. In the forest, where he grows, there is no one to show concern. But if you give him good care, then the fruits will be larger and the yield will be huge.
In autumn, I solder every plant with water. I put a hose under each barrel and pour water until it stops leaving. Then I pour two buckets of humus into the trunk circles.
In the spring before flowering, hawthorn also shed well, so that the whole earth around is completely saturated. After that I give them two glasses of ash. Somewhere in the middle of summer I am doing another feeding with pigeon droppings. Watering twice a week during the season. And I do not remember such a case when this plant became ill or was attacked by pests.
Thanks to its thorns, bushes can serve as a green hedge instead of a fence - both beautifully and reliably, and the benefits are great. In autumn, the late hawthorn with red fruits is especially beautiful.
By the way, hawthorn is a wonderful stock for vaccinations. I instilled a lot of everything on it - from Japanese quince to a pear. Moreover, the fruits of Japanese quince are larger and their frost resistance is much higher.
Propagating hawthorn seeds. At the same time, he does not lose his maternal qualities. I sow in the autumn before winter in specially prepared boxes with soil. In spring, shoots appear. But even if some seeds are late, then next year they will definitely sprout. Before sowing (for 4-5 months) I stratify the seeds: mix them with wet sand, put them in a plastic bag and put them in the refrigerator. Shake the bag periodically to maintain moisture.
The fruits and flowers of hawthorn are very good for health. I make jam from berries, I dry land flowers. I make tea all winter. It turns out fragrant and tasty. I make tinctures from fresh fruits. They have a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, help in the treatment of sclerosis and generally act as a tonic, relieve stress, improve sleep and strengthen the whole body. Here are two of my recipes.
- 20 g of fresh berries are immersed in boiling water (about 400 ml) and cook on low heat for 10 minutes. Insist 4 hours. Separately, take 10 g of oregano, pour boiling water (300 ml) and also insist 4 hours. After that, measure each infusion of 300 ml, mix, add 200 g of honey and a glass of alcohol.
- 20 g of leaves and flowers of hawthorn pour boiling water (300 ml) and insist 4 hours. Strain the infusion. 10 g of oregano pour the same amount of boiling water and insist as well. Mix both infusions, add 200 g of honey and a glass of alcohol.
The second recipe is more suitable for me - it gives the best result. But it can be supplemented first. And sometimes I do this: first I accept the first, then after a short break - the second. Tinctures should be taken 30 minutes before meals for 3 tbsp. l 3-4 times a day.
